These are HDR images that i processed using Photomatix. High Dynamic Range photographs are shot in raw picture format on the camera, with it also set to auto-exposure bracketing (AEB) and setting the aperture usually 2-3 stops down from each other. Once set to AEB i take 3 separate images one over exposed, underexposed and another that has correct light metering. Photomatix then takes those images smushes them together to create a picture with more tonal range.
Each of these pictures was actually 3, i have never done HDR imaging before so this was a kind of warm up. Though it is more of a hassle i think the quality is apparent.(i have to admit using a tripod would of helped)

This is a look at symmetry, with repitition in forms. The flow of repitition is simplistic in means of just copying a segment over and over, yet complex. Think of a DNA strand that appears to be just a spiral, when in actuality it is a code for the most intricate life. Also a fractal which is a geometrical shape that is repeated at smaller and smaller scales producing an irregular form, raising a question of how can you go from symmetry to irregularity with only a repetition? When you look at this work the repetition is obvious, as well as a pattern and flow of the images merging appearing then as a solid form that they are not in actuality.

These images where a kind of test run of a concept that’s been turning in my head for a while. The images first off are a blend of several different mediums representing a kind of collage, working with only few cut outs of magazines and other photographs making the work i think a little more coherent. Placing this model completely out of context of where i cut her out from then into a world that i created, also fitting them in the frame giving them objects that are in their line of site that they then seem to be focusing on. This work was i guess my answer to the questions i had while i would look through magazines wondering what the models look at as they stare off the side of the page, and putting the model in a place she has never been or at least familiar to.
